Rondale Holloman, 37, killed Kenneth Bulle, 74, of Mount Holly, in the early morning hours of Nov. 14, Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw announced.
Corrections officers discovered that Holloman had attacked Bulle, who was pronounced dead at the facility, Bradshaw said. An autopsy determined that Bulle died from manual strangulation, according to Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.
Holloman, who has been jailed since September on second-degree aggravated assault charges, is now facing a first-degree murder charge. Bulle had been incarcerated since last month after being charged with first-degree attempted murder and weapons offenses, authorities said.
The case is being prepared for presentation to a grand jury for possible indictment, Bradshaw added.
The investigation was led by Major Crimes Unit Detective Nicholas Schieber and Crime Scene Unit Detective Steven Trunfio of the Prosecutor’s Office. Holloman will be prosecuted by Assistant Prosecutor Robert S. Van Gilst, who supervises the Major Crimes Unit.
